Featuring prominently in the New Testament, Mt of Olives serves as­­ a site of religious pilgrimage for Jews and Christians alike. Jewish scripture identifies the mountain as King David's escape route from Absalom and the site of some of Jesus' prophesies. Much of the mountain serves as a Jewish cemetery for important figures, as many believe Messiah will first return to this spot and resurrects the Jews buried there.     This place has been mentioned thru history for thousands of years. It's a nice mountain, with nice views all around. There are a few areas that you can park around and even do some shopping of local.....  more »

    This is located outside the Old City of Jerusalem and is possible to go by foot even though it is not that near. This is a Jewish cemetery which is still in use and is a must see when in the city...  more »

    A beautiful and historic place that you have to visit. Very peaceful and holy area. Several key events in the life of Jesus, as related in the Gospels, took place on the Mount of Olives, and in the Acts of the Apostles it is described as the place from which Jesus ascended to heaven.

    Important place, but I didn't find anything at the actual peak. Not far away, and slightly higher is the Dome of the Ascension. Definitely go there!
