The capital and largest city of Niger, Niamey serves as an administrative, cultural, and economic center on the Niger River.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Niamey: Koure (Koure Giraffe Reserve & Koure Reserve). Zinder, formerly also spelled Sinder, is the second largest city in Niger, with a population of 170,574 ; by 2005 its population was estimated to be over 200,000. Zinder is known for historic sites and museums.
